Chalet George is located in the heart of Courchevel Village, which is situated at 1550m. It is a popular destination for families being a quiet, peaceful area, away from all the noisy night clubs and bars.

Courchevel Village (1550) is a quiet little village offering more affordable restaurants and accommodation when compared to the rest of the Courchevel area, making it an ideal ski resort for family ski holidays. Located just below the famous Courchevel 1850, it is only a short gondola ride away from 1850 where you can experience the glitz and glamour without paying the extortionate prices.

Linked by two lifts to 1850, Courchevel Village provides easy access to some of the most impressive skiing the Three Valley’s has to offer.

Skiing

Courchevel Village (Courchevel 1550) is set just a few minutes ski below Courchevel 1850 giving you a relaxed base to access the full ski area. Le Goerge faces straight onto the snowy slopes, so you get great access to all the areas - Courchevel is renowned for being one of the most highly regarded resorts in the world. With fantastic interlinked slopes for all abilities throughout the famous 3 Valleys ski area and some truly spectacular scenery it is ideal for any ski holiday.

 

Apres Ski

Although Courchevel Village (formerly known as 1550) is quieter than neighbouring resort, it doesn’t mean you’ll be short on places to go for après ski. With Le George offering ski in/ski out, Courchevel Village has après ski sorted with many options on the mountains meaning you can ski straight down to Le George after a glass or two!

It may be small, but when it comes to food the restaurants in Courchevel Village are a delight, serving everything from classic elegant cuisine to simple Savoyard fare.

Restaurants

In Courchevel some may say the rule is that the higher the altitude of a restaurant, the higher the bill! However, food standards also reach lofty heights and there many excellent fine dining restaurants – Courchevel is swimming in restaurants with Michelin stars, seven at the last count. There are great more traditional alpine restaurants lower down the mountain too in Courchevel Village with many fab dining options that are often more wallet friendly.

Activities

Away from the slopes there is certainly no shortage of adrenaline-fuelled pursuits to try from skydiving to winter biking.

There are plenty of activities in Courchevel for those of you who don’t head to the mountains to ski. The toboggan run down from Courchevel (1850) to Courchevel Village (1550) is a must for adrenaline seekers, there is also the option to do this at night down the torch-lit run.
